The Finnish Heritage Agency's tasks include promoting the cooperation and networking of museums, providing advice and offering tools for developing the operations of museums.

To this end, the Finnish Heritage Agency issues statements to the Ministry of Education and Culture on matters related to the museum and cultural sector, evaluates museums’ eligibility for statutory state aid, participates in the sector’s working groups and development projects, develops shared tools with museums, responds to information requests related to the field and publishes data sets.
