Ethnographic Picture Collection
Historically, the Ethnographic Picture Collection has focused on recording Finnish folklore, folk culture and trades. The focus has been on recording Finnish traditional folk practices, technologies, beliefs, customs, everyday life and phenomena in the agrarian culture and its changes as well as the people behind them. The scope also includes the cultural heritage of people who have immigrated to Finland. The ethnographic point of view is the key.
